Travelers of Italian nationality, as well as most visitors who want to enter Sri Lanka, can obtain a tourist visa, valid for 30 days, upon arrival at the airport or through the Electronic Travel Authorization website. To obtain it, you need a passport with a residual validity of six months after the date of arrival, and a return or onward flight ticket.
Tropical monsoon climate and hot humid. The rainy monsoon season is from May to September in the south-western regions and from November to April in the north-eastern ones. However, lately the seasons have become less predictable, and even in the non-monsoon periods there can be frequent showers. The average temperatures range from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius. Inland, in the highland and mountainous area, the climate is more temperate and cooler, reaching 2-3 degrees in some high mountain locations.

Three-quarters of the population speak Sinhalese. Nearly 20% speak Tamil, mostly in the north of the island. English is spoken fluently by 10% of the population and is generally used in hotels.
